Apple picking season is already here! (I know right!?) There are some fabulous apple orchards near Montreal, so I’ve put together a list of the top free places to go apple picking near Montreal that no cost for the picking, you simply pay for your apples.

Verge Gibouleau
Being conveniently located in Laval, their orchard offers the opportunity to spend more time in the outdoors and less time in the car. The apple picking season spans from mid-August to the end of October, weather permitting.

The tractor rides take you into the depths of our orchard.  On the way out, their delicious apple donuts will thrill your taste buds! Theses occurs from the week-end after labor day until October 21st, weather permitting.

Ideal for field trips or a get-together with the family, a picnic area is available for those who wish to eat on the premises.

The standard apple picking bag provided allows for collecting approximately twenty pounds and costs 20$.
The accepted payment methods are debit or cash, no credit cards.
Maximum of 4 persons per bag. Dogs are accepted.

Au Verges Petite & Fils
Located in Mont-Saint-Hilaire, this orchard is worth a look. Activities are 100% free , you only pay for your bags of apples !!!

1 bag for 19$
2 bags for 34$
3 bags for 49$
4 bags for 59$
6 bags for 72$
*1 bag yields about 18-20 pounds of apples*

Several varieties of apples better than each other : Melba, Sunrise, Paulared , Lobo , McIntosh, Spartan , Cortland, Empire ect … Dogs on leash are allowed on the orchard at any time, except in walks and in the main booth. Spend a memorable day for Vergers Petit et Fils at the foot of Mont-Saint-Hilaire . On the menu: apple picking, tractor rides , farm animals , cider , etc.

La Magie de la Pomme

Located in Stain-Eustache, this great little orchard focuses on families and those looking for a magical experience. There are different pricing options depending on the day of the week. Monday to Friday it’s $20 for a 20lb bag or $10 for a 10lb bag.
Saturday and sunday a family bag is $25.

Some of my most favourtie places to pick apples don’t have websites. Simply drive around the eastern townships and looks for the apple signs on the side of the road. You’ll meet the nicest people and have terrific value for your apples (and maybe even some pears!)
