Well, believe it or not, registration for ski school is now upon us. (I know, right summer hasn’t even finished and we’re talking about winter!!)
Choosing a ski school close to Montreal can be very overwhelming. We have so many options when it comes to ski hill! From the most advance to great local hills, deciding which ski school close to Montreal is right for you depends on a variety of factors.

Children Skiing

I’ve put together a list of questions to ask yourself before registering your kids to ski school.

TIPS FOR CHOOSING A SKI SCHOOL NEAR MONTREAL

  1. Where is the mountain located
If the mountain is 2 hours away without traffic, maybe that’s not the best option. As kids only have so much patience, I would choose a hill no further than 45 minutes away if possible.
  2. Price
Ski school is not cheap and this can be a big deciding factor for your family. See if the ski school offers free seasons passes with the registration (as that can sometimes be extra). Alternatively, if they have specials for the parents like a 1 day a week pass.
  3. Consider if the hill is good for beginners
When kids are learning to ski, they don’t necessarily need the best hill in the province. They need a decent size hill with great amenities for children who are learning. Some of my recommendations are Ski Olympia, Mont Saint Bruno, Ski Morin Heights,  and Mont Rigaud.
  4. Do the classes include ski rentals
When looking at a ski school, especially if it’s your first time, look at what the ski school offers. In some cases, it includes the rentals for the season. This is a cost saving measure for sure, but this may also add to the overall price of your lessons and you may not be able to reduce the price even if you’re brining your own gear.

So that’s it, those are my tips for choosing a ski school close to Montreal. Have any other questions, leave them in the comment section below!
