This past June we traveled for the first time down to Mexico and Stayed at the Grand Palladium Costa Mujeres, specifically at the Family Selection section of the Hotel. It was our first trip as a family since the pandemic started and it was really really overdue. We were looking for a stress-free family getaway, and the Grand Palladium Costa Mujeres Resort & Spa in Mexico delivered.

Booking our Resort
We booked our Vacation with Air Canada Vacations, which means we flew on their leisure Air Line, Rouge. Rouge does the job, I’m also an Elite Member of Aeroplan, so I prefer Star Alliance to any other options flying out of Montreal – and honestly they are always around the same price (or price match if they are not) so it was all good. We had a slight delay leaving Cancun, which wasn’t the end of the world. I must say, the flight attendants on Rouge are by far the best in the industry. We had amazing experiences with them flying there and back, and even got some free food as we made sure we were out of the agents way of doing their job, and they really appreciated that.
The Resort & Accommodations

Located in a privileged area of the resort, it provides exclusive facilities and personalized services for parents and children alike. The resort is so large that golf carts and boats are available to help guests navigate the property.

We had access to a private pool reserved exclusively for our section of the hotel, as well as a designated general area. The spacious accommodations were perfect for our family, providing comfort and convenience.

Upon arrival, families are welcomed with a special check-in area exclusively for Family Selection guests. This ensures a seamless and efficient check-in process, allowing families to start their vacation without any delays. Additionally, each family is assigned a personal family assistant who is dedicated to ensuring their stay is comfortable and enjoyable.
Another great feature of the Family Selection is the exclusive pool area. Kids can splash around and have fun while parents relax and soak up the sun. The mini-club provides supervised activities and games for children, ensuring they are entertained and engaged throughout their stay. In addition to the exceptional accommodations, the resort offers a plethora of family-friendly activities. From the Kids Club, where our children had a blast making new friends and participating in supervised games and activities, to the various excursions and nearby attractions, there was never a dull moment.
We had a pool view room on the 3rd floor of the family selection building. We had 2 queen beds and a pull out sofa. Our two boys, ages 8 and 6 were able to sleep on the sofa bed, and we had our own beds (the kids someones snuck into bed with one of us).
There is a giant tub, a separate shower stall and toilet stall. There was a lot of room for us family of 4 and we had a nice huge balcony to keep our inflatables and hang out on at the end of the day.
Restaurants
The dining options at Grand Palladium Costa Mujeres Resort & Spa are truly impressive. With a total of 14 restaurants, bars, and beach grills, there is something to satisfy every craving. During our family vacation, we had the pleasure of dining at Mex, a Mexican restaurant, and Portofino, an Italian restaurant. Both of these establishments exceeded our expectations in terms of both food quality and service. The authentic flavors and wide variety of dishes offered at Mex allowed us to indulge in the local cuisine. Meanwhile, Portofino transported us to Italy with its delectable pasta dishes and rich flavors.
In addition to these specialty restaurants, the buffet also impressed us. As any parent knows, pleasing everyone in the family can be a challenge, especially when it comes to meals. However, the buffet at Grand Palladium Costa Mujeres Resort & Spa made it easy. With a vast array of options, even our pickiest eaters found something to enjoy. The quality of the food was consistently high, and we were impressed by the variety offered each day.
We also appreciated the convenience of having such a diverse range of dining options all within the resort. This allowed us to try new cuisines and flavors without having to leave the property. It made our family vacation feel even more luxurious and allowed us to fully immerse ourselves in the culinary delights of the region.
