I have always stressed the importance of great ski gear when it comes to skiing and snowboarding, especially when it comes to kids! Keeping kids warms = keeping parents happy because let’s face it, they won’t be complaining about being cold! We’ve been testing a few ski brands this seasons with my 4 year old, and I think I have found the best ski snowsuit for kids!
The Best Ski Snowsuit For Kids
The Penguin snowsuit by Isbjörn is the best ski snowsuit for kids, and I’ll tell you why.
Warmth and staying dry: Obviously if kids aren’t warm, then the snowsuit is useless. The Penguin suit is made using durable Nylon Taslan, which forms the outer layer that keeps out the wind and rain. The outer fabric is then lined with a membrane that allows excess heat to escape. They also added PrimaLoft padding which keeps kids very warm without any bulk! We’ve been testing the Penguin snowsuit on some of the coldest days Canada has to offer. The pictures in this blog post were taken when it was -20C!
Movability: The suit may seem a bit baggy at first, but once you have layered your child appropriately, the suit works like a charm! There is 0 restriction with this snowsuit and my son was skiing like a champ in this snowsuit without any complaints. You can see him doing big “pizza” slices on the image below on his skis without looking like he was about to tear apart his ski pants.
Rugged: This snowsuit is made to be put to the test. It is durable as all heck and can stand the test of digging snow tunnels in the backyard to hitting jumps in the glades (sous-bois) on the slopes and literally everything in between.
The Ability to Use for more Than 1 Season: This suit has arm and ankle cuffs that can be easily adjusted on the inside to extend by approx. 3 cm. This allows the garment to be worn for an additional season if needed! This is a real solid reason why I love this snowsuit so much is that we can easily use it for two years, and the fact that it’s so rugged means you can pass this down to other kids in the family or to friends!

There is a reason why the Penguin Snowsuits is the bestselling garment in Scandinavia and has won the annual Best-in-Test awards seven times now. The snowsuit has become more and more available in North America and the brand is working really hard to get this beloved snowsuit in stores in Canada.
Thanks for reading, and I hope I’ve inspired you to get a Penguin snowsuit for your kids either for this year or next!
See you on the slopes!!
