Summer is here and it’s been a hot one! With temperatures still in the 30C’s for the foreseeable future, why not hit the beach this weekend?
I’ve compiled some of the best family beaches close to Montreal.

Our Top 4 Picks for Beaches Close to Montreal

Cap St. Jacques Nature Park
Open from June 9 – September 1
From 10am – 7pm

We’ve been hearing a lot about this one, and for good reason. This park is very popular for families!  We suggest heading there very early as it fill up quickly. You can rent non-motorized boats like kayaks and pedal boats, and there are some great hiking and biking trails to enjoy while you’re there.  Cap St. Jacques is located at 21115 Gouin Blvd. W., Pierrefonds.

The cost is free for kids 5 & under, $5 for adults, $3.50 for children ages 6-17

Parc Jean-Drapeau
Open from June 19 to Sept. 2, 2019

Parc Jean-Drapeau is by far the best places to go if you live in Montreal and are looking to use public transit (or your bike) to get to the beach. It’s great for little kids as the water is shallow and there is a play park for them to utilize. Like Cap St. Jacques, you can rent kayaks, canoes, and pedal boats.
There are other activities in the area at a cost like the Aquazilla and Stand Up Paddle Boarding.
Admission to the beach is $9 for adults and $4.50 for children.

Park National d’Oka
May 18 to September 2
from 8 am to 8 pm

Oka park is really not far from Montreal, but feels like you’re in the middle of nowhere! The beach is monitored by a lifeguards (from 9:30am – 6pm), and the soft sand is great for families.  There is much more than just the beach, there are also several paved paths for cycling and like the other beaches you can rend non motorized boasts like kayaks and even stand up paddle boards and go wind surfing.  This summer, families can also enjoy the new inflatable water course.

The entry fee to the park is $8.75 for adults, free for kids 17 and under. Plus there is a parking fee $8.48 per car.

St. Zotique Beach
June 8, 2019
from 9 am to 8 pm

Probably the furthest of all the beaches highlighted, St-Zotique is about about 45 minutes west of Montreal. Another great beach for families with lots to do! You can have a picnic with lots of picnic tables, but there is also areas to barbecue and there is a snack bar.

The cost is $10 for adults, $5 for children ages 9-12, $3 for ages 5-8, and free for kids 4 & under.
