Summer in Montreal has officially arrived, (although we wouldn’t really know it with all the rain we’ve been getting these last few days), which means it’s time to raise a glass, wave the fleurdelisé, and sing your heart out for the Fête nationale du Québec (affectionately known to locals as La Saint-Jean).
The 192nd edition is operating under a beautiful theme: “Célébrer ce qui nous lie” (Celebrating What Connects Us). Whether you want massive stadium-sized crowds or a cozy local park barbecue, the island of Montreal is packed with energy on June 23 and 24, 2026.
Here is your ultimate guide on where to celebrate across the island!
1. The Main Event: Parc Maisonneuve

If you want the quintessential, high-energy Saint-Jean experience, Parc Maisonneuve is the beating heart of the action on June 24.
- The Vibe: Massive crowds, a sea of blue and white, food trucks, and an unmatched festive spirit.
- Daytime Festivities (Starting at Noon): The site opens early with a Play Zone for kids, an SAQ Bistro area featuring local Quebec wines, and plenty of spaces to picnic while catching the afternoon soundcheck rehearsals.
- The Grand Show (7:30 PM): Hosted by the iconic Guylaine Tremblay and driven by spokesperson Pier-Luc Funk, the lineup this year is a spectacular bridge between generations. Expect moving performances by Diane Dufresne, Harmonium, Pierre Lapointe, Bruno Pelletier, and Souldia.
- The After-Party (10:00 PM – Midnight): Don’t leave right after the music! Vincent-Guy Aubry (the official DJ of the Montreal Canadiens) will turn the park into a massive, open-air dance floor.
2. The Traditional Spectacle: The “Je t’aime Québec” Parade
You can’t skip the annual parade on the afternoon of June 24. It’s vibrant, theatrical, and deeply rooted in Quebec’s cultural history.
- When: June 24, 2026, at 2:00 PM.
- The Route: Starting at Rachel Street East and Molson Street, the parade will make its way east, wrapping up near Parc Maisonneuve just in time for you to grab a spot for the evening concert.
3. The Neighborhood Block Parties (Fêtes de Quartier)
Don’t want to fight the massive crowds at Parc Maisonneuve? You are in luck. There are 77 local neighborhood parties happening across the island on June 23 and 24. These hyper-local events feature long communal tables for neighborhood dinners, inflatable games for kids, and local musicians.
Here are a few standout neighborhood spots to check out:
Promenade-Bellerive (Mercier-Hochelaga-Maisonneuve)
- When: Tuesday, June 23.
- The Draw: Celebrate right by the St. Lawrence River. Catch a tribute to Plume Latraverse at 7:00 PM, followed by the legendary Yves Lambert et son orchestre at 8:00 PM to get everyone step-dancing.
Montréal-Est (Parc de l’Hôtel-de-Ville)
- When: Tuesday, June 23 (Starting at 4:00 PM).
- The Draw: Perfect for families. After an evening of kids’ games and food trucks, Marc Dupré takes the stage at 8:30 PM, capped off by a spectacular drone light show at 10:00 PM.
The West Island Celebrations
The West Island comes alive with incredible programming, food trucks, and brilliant fireworks:
- Pointe-Claire (Alexandre Bourgeau Park): June 24, 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM. Live music, animation, and fireworks at 10:10 PM.
- Beaconsfield (Centennial Park): June 24. A gorgeous lakeside view featuring a performance by La Compagnie Marie Chouinard, circus activities, and fireworks at 10:10 PM.

💡 Quick Tips for Saint-Jean 2026:
- Getting Around: Leave your car at home. The STM (metro and buses) runs on a holiday schedule, and streets around major event zones will be completely closed off.
- Closures: June 24 is a strict statutory holiday in Quebec. Grocery stores, malls, banks, and all SAQ locations will be closed. Plan your party beverages and picnic snacks on June 22 or 23!
- Dress Code: Anything blue and white!
Bonne Saint-Jean to all! How are you planning to celebrate the Fête nationale this year?
