If all goes to plan, we’re only a few months away from the ski and snowboard season. Getting your body ready for the season is super important, especially when you have little kids! As moms, we need to feel great after our time on the hill, we’ve got little ones to chase after!

I’ve been doing a variety of exercises to get ready for the season with a big focus on legs and cardio, but I knew I needed an expert to guide me. So that’s when I reached out to certified personal trainer and nutrition coach, Mel Hagn! I’ve known Mel for a while now, and her enthusiasm for fitness lights up every room. She is a kettlebell queen and is a fellow snowboard mom! (her kids are on skis as well, see I’m not alone!)

Mel has put together a Snowboard Mom workout guide that is great for anyone getting ready for the skiing or snowboarding.

The snowboard mom workout guide includes a great warm up (that should be done at the hill) as well as two training circuit, a balance circuit and a finisher!

I knew stretching before snowboarding was super important, but didn’t know how important! Mel tells us that “stretching also improves blood flow, getting rid of metabolic waste and delivering more oxygen and nutrients, which helps reduce DOMS (Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness) and not only improves flexibility and range of motion, which in turn reduces the risk of injuries.” If that doesn’t encourage you to stretch before hitting the slopes, I don’t know what will!

I highly suggest you download the guide now! The exercises are simple and don’t require any gym equipment and can be done at home.

I want to thank Mel for creating this amazing guide!
