It’s almost festival season in Montreal and that means lots and lots of great stuff for families and kids to do! One of the best known summer festivals is the Montreal Jazz Festival, and there is also a lot to do at the Montreal Jazz Festival for kids!
Activities for Kids at the Montreal Jazz Festival
At the Complexe Desjardins’ GRANDE-PLACE stage you can see the LITTLE SCHOO OF JAZZ which is presented everyday from June 29 to July 8 at 11am and at 1:30pm. This performance will include LES ZÉLÈVES, a harmonic vocal quintet led by Victor-Jacques Ménard alongside James Gelfand and his quartet, and Festival mascot Ste-Cat!
At the Rio Tinto Family Club on the esplanade of Place des Arts (each day from noon to 10pm, you can find the Rio Tinto Musical Park! The Family Zone welcomes an explosion of new additions since last year edition with the Rio Tinto Musical Park, offering a park that’s more musical than ever, with an array of interactive activities and installations around the theme of music. Playtime and technology are combined in fun. For example: the Saxophone, Petits tambours, the Vinyle and the giant Pédalophone, as well as an incredible, innovative giant Piano!
There will also be face painting and a snack bar. Additionally, the Family Club offers a free loan of anti-noise headsets conceived especially for children. Stroller rentals are also available as are changing tables and special nursing areas for infants.
New this year, for more peace of mind, parents can get free bracelets for their kids to identified them.
