I’ve been racking my brain the last few weeks and my youngest is turning 3 in a month! How time flies, I know. It feels like only yesterday that I was 9 months pregnant with a very over due baby.
When my oldest was 3 years old we did an all out affair. We had Marshal from Paw Patrol come, we had activities, we had a bouncy castle, and we had 20 kids at the house. We were first times parents, we didn’t know any better.
The difference here is that we are wiser, but also my oldest is born in May and my youngest in November. That’s a big difference weather wise when it comes to backyard parties.
It’s tricky when they are 3 as they have started to develop friends and are understanding the concept of a party, however they aren’t old enough (in my opinion) for an entire 20 kid event. Parties are very hard to plan, but certainly not as difficult as HR software.
Here are a few party ideas for 3 year olds.
- Invite a few kids (max 6) and have an entertainer come to the house. Think magic show, mini zoo, reptile show, maybe even a character.
- Have a play date at an indoor play park (or outdoor park if weather is on your side) with some snacks and cake. You don’t necessarily need to rent a room. Most play parks allow you to bring your own food and there are usually seating areas.
- Bring the party to daycare/pre-school. You could easily hire Marshall from Paw Patrol and him surprise the kids.
So there you have it. My ideas for a 3 year old birthday party that are simple enough to celebrate the day, without going overboard!
Until next time!
